“To educate the public on Celiac Disease while promoting those businesses that cater to a quality gluten free lifestyle.”
Founder: Debbie Deaver Mudliar
A health-care advocate and entrepreneur, Debbie was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2009. In just seven years, she has developed a nationally recognized expo that is growing at least 20% each year, in both the number of attendees and exhibitors.
Debbie is also a cancer survivor and works to increase awareness of cancer prevention, healthy eating and lifestyle choices to prevent and reverse diseases. In addition, she works closely with The Road Home, a Utah-based non-profit that has been widely recognized for its innovative efforts to address the problems of homelessness.
Debbie is fluent in Portugese. Debbie is married with 3 children.
“I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in January 2009. The diagnosis was a huge blessing and an end to the decade long battle of constant fatigue and sickness. With that blessing came the challenge of “what next.” Where can I shop? Where is it safe to eat out at? What products are there? Which ones are good and have flavor?
My goal with the Gluten Free Expo is to educate those with Celiac Disease (and our loved ones) of the wonderful companies that provide solutions to the gluten-free challenge. Whether you are a newbie with Celiac Disease/Gluten Intolerance or a veteran to this life style, I hope you will walk away edified learning what national and local companies, products, physicians and restaurants are doing and creating to make living with Celiac Disease easier and better.”
I look forward to seeing you all at the Expo!
